Design & Construction

Within the hydraulic infrastructure business area, Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. provides engineering, construction, conservation, operation and maintenance services, as well as other highly qualified work resulting from its extensive knowledge of these systems. Its activity is based on the Integral Water Cycle, including collection, treatment, purification and reuse of water, before finally returning it to its natural environment. In this area, Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. focuses on major infrastructures such as sanitation systems: sewers and outlets, WWTPs and tertiary treatment for effluent reuse. Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. designs and constructs facilities for the complete treatment of all discharges, urban and industrial ones, to ensure the required level of treatment, complying at all times with the fixed regulation levels for discharges.

The objectives that Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd complies with when designing and constructing this type of infrastructure are:

Operation & Maintance (O&M)

An important division of Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. activities is the construction, operattion and maintenance of industrial wastewater treatment plants. Our focus , is to evaluate the process, analyzing the components contributing to the generation of watewater and then choose the appropriate equipment which will ensure your water outlet values.

Our restriction is to cover all aspects and activities necessary to run your plant in a safe and most economical manner. An O & M agreement will help you minimize your risks and maximize your profit. Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. is in the position to offer expertise and extensive experience at the same time. Consequently our O & M clients will benefit from the most extensive warranties regarding the plant performance.

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. is specialized in the construction of circular Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Units in which the suspended solids and liquid particles are separated from wastewater by floating them to the surface on ultra fine air bubbles. It produces sludge of about 4% - 6% solids that is skimmed from the surface and transferred to a collection chamber. Adding chemicals (coagulants & flocculants) to the unit help particlesto bin together and this can improve DAF Unit efficiency. High Levels of BOD, COD and SS are removed in the process.

Why to choose a DAF Unit from Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd ?
- Circular implementation with high efficiency
- Stainless Steel SS304 or SS316 vessel
- Energy Efficient
- Treated wastewater from 1 m3/hr to 500 m3/hr
- Higher Concentration of Sludge
- Design Flexibility according to the customer needs
- Full Treatment system integration
- Long - term customer support
- Available in different sizes from 1.5 m to 20 m diameter
- DAF is more efficient than conventional rectangular process and can treat larger volumes with very low retention time.
- Reduction of polymer consumption in the sludge dewatering system
- Sludge extraction can be automatically controlled, thus DAF Unit is relatively easy and cheap to operate, as small operator input is required.

Chlorine Dioxide Units

Chlorine dioxide is a broad spectrum biocide with proven activity against bacteria, viruses, yeast and bacterial spores. It is widely used in various applications such as drinking and waste water treatment, the washing and treatment of food stuffs and also as bleaching agent in the paper process.

Chlorine dioxide is favoured over non-oxidising disinfectants due to its greater efficacy. Although a halogenated disinfectant, chlorine dioxide does not readily form halogenated by-products (trihalomethanes) due to the nature of the molecular bonding. Hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid are known to be corrosive and can be a hazard to operators. Ozone generators are expensive and chlorine based disinfectants have short shelf lives. Chlorine is also known to form potentially hazardous by-products.

Chlorine dioxide is known to be compatible with the majority of materials commonly found and is not transported as an active and is generated at point-of-use from sodium chlorite and hydrochloric acid. This gives the product a very long shelf life when compared to other oxidisers. The point-of-use generation ensures that the activated solution provides peak efficacy without the requirement for test kits to ensure that the product is fit for purpose.

Lubrico - A.Tsakalis Ltd. offers chlorine dioxide generators that ensure efficient gas production, precise solution feeding, low maintenance and dependable operation for the life of the equipment. Models consistently maintain a product yield greater than 95% and are available with either manual or automatic control, in addition to system shut-down and alarm options. Based on a reaction with solutions of Sodium Chlorite and Hydrochloric Acid, you can easy produce on sote and avoid formulation of THM in your treated water.
